Halito! (That means hello in the Choctaw language.) On behalf of the Timucuan Federation of Jacksonville, Welcome to the 2020 Sunshine State Pow-Wow! We are very glad you decided to spend some quality time with your kids. This year’s Statewide Committee has been hard at work to provide you and yours a fun, exciting, and memorable weekend. Our motto this year is: “20 / 20 Vision for the Future, with Eyes on our Past.” We will be located in the Youth Area of Wickham Park, all the way in the back which is to the north after you enter the main gate and turn right and go past the main office. Look for the buffalo signs to point your way. If you have any issues or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact a committee member in a camo shirt, and we will do our best to help you out. BIG HOW!!
Find the canopy once you get into the Youth Area. You should see tables, people in camo shirts, and raffle items. Check in there for your packet, which should hold your pre-purchased items. If you forgot, you can register once you arrive with cash or a credit card. Don’t forget to place your placard on your dashboard.
Use your best judgment
With no more than 1 car per family in the tent area. If more vehicles than that or you run out of space, please park near the sand volleyball courts where you entered the Youth Area. There will be signs too.
Campground personnel will be looking around. Bring some chem-logs, charcoal, or propane camp stoves (Duraflame Campfire Roasting Logs actually work well!). Portable electric grills and your generator(s) are allowed. Don’t forget some bricks or cinder blocks to get fires off the ground if you need them. We will make a small bonfire in the main fire ring Thursday & Friday night, so come join us there to make some new friends!
Hats, patches, and t-shirts are available on this website as well as when you arrive for cash. Order early to ensure they don't sellout
There are 2 bathroom/shower buildings in the central part of the Youth Area marked “Men” and “Women” next to the open-air pavilion. Additional facilities may be brought in pending registrations.
If you forget something - At the southwest corner of the park there is a 7-Eleven or CVS (intersection of Parkway Dr & N. Wickham Rd) and to the northwest just past the Eastern Florida State College there is a Publix or Walmart (intersection of Post Rd & N. Wickham Rd).
There will be a box or tub in the open-air pavilion or canopy where you registered. Check there and don’t forget to use the Band app as a chat or information tool.
